Learners with complex needs are falling through the gaps. We need to catch them.

Waypaths provides an operational infrastructure for inclusion and SEND. We believe support available to learners should be visible, safe, and fit-for-purpose. Waypaths has been created as a solution to a system that is failing young people and the professionals supporting them.

Our objective is to connect the information and workflows that matter most: understanding learner needs, seeing current support, comparing individual services, coordinating agreed packages and reviewing what happens next.

Waypaths supports clearer human decisions by informing and facilitating best practice.
It does not make placements or replace professional judgement.

The problem is not lack of effort. It is fragmented information.

Waypaths is designed to give those involved a clearer shared picture of needs, current support, individual services, evidence, practical constraints and decisions.

Across the sector, professionals and families are working hard to support learners. However, the information needed to coordinate that support is fragmented, spanning different organisations and formats.

When there is no shared structure, what are the consequences?

  • Schools and providers repeat information.
  • Families retell the same story.
  • Teams spend their limited time collating information and chasing emails.
  • Due to time constraints, decisions can favour what is familiar or immediately available.

Built from inside education.

Waypaths is being built by professional educators with lived experience across mainstream, special and alternative education.

It comes from extensive experience of partial referrals, scattered information, repeated paperwork, and unclear needs. Professionals are left to make difficult decisions without a shared picture.

Through feedback, pilot learning and ongoing research, Waypaths aims to address the diverse and evolving issues throughout the sector.
